people wearing masks (self.starbucksbaristas)

so i’m sure we’ve all had an experience where you saw a customer not wear a mask in the cafe. etc. however half of my co workers and by half i mean like 4/5th will complain about people not wearing masks in drive through or cafe which is totally valid. but then proceed to. take off their mask. in the back with 4 other people also not wearing their mask. all crammed together. and then seriously scratch their heads when we get quarantined for COVID. i’m just dumbfounded. 😐👋

like the only time i will take my mask “off” is to sip something. (i still keep my mask on and i just get a straw if that makes sense) or eat in the back but our backrooms are seriously tiny so if someone does come by i just slip on my mask asap. but i didn’t like doing that every time. so then i just eat lunch behind the coffee ground shelf. where it’s truly away from everyone else.

like i hate wearing my mask it makes my skin break out even more, to even new heights and my acne is cystic and it hurts to move my mouth sometimes. but i will always keep it on no matter what. i’d rather b ugly then someone catch covid.

i definitely feel safer with my coworkers because we are all carefully prescreened for covid before we come in. i don’t know where drive thru people have been or if they’re healthy. people come through my drive through and cough up a storm.

My co workers do the same thing. It’s pretty disheartening and terrifying. I think people have an US vs. THEM mentality where they don’t think it will happen to them.

I trust my coworkers to not come to work when exposed to Covid or taking a Covid test. I don’t trust people in the drive thru who don’t even wash their hands every thirty minutes.

Yeah we had to tell someone who refused to wear a mask in store that we could not serve them again if they refused to wear one at the beginning of the pandemic. She wore one in her mall outlet but took it off before coming into our store saying she had a medical exemption. :/

I take my mask off when I’m in the back on my 10, half or if I go to get some of my drink.
