Advice? My manager changed my time sheet (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by _honeydews
Hi everyone! I just started working at Starbucks just a month ago. For some reason my manager has recently change some of my clock in and clock out times and has even put in a lunch that I did not have. I’m not sure why they would do this when I can literally see the changes on my app, I’m assuming they either don’t know I can see or has some strange good reason.

What should my next steps be in this situation? I’m not sure if I should confront manager directly or the DM.

Former manager here: this is illegal and is time theft. You need to document as much of these changes as you can and report them to your DM or HR. I would not bring this to your SM. Good luck!

Thank you for the advice. I was conflicted because I wasn’t sure if I should give her a chance to explain but you’re right. I should make a call to my DM. Thank you.

There is nothing for her to explain. She knows what she is doing. Once your DM and/or HR is aware, they will investigate further to see if this is happening to other partners.

Hello! Just want to give an update that I did it! I let my DM know what happened and he's looking into it to see if it's happening to other partners. Now I just have to sit through some uncomfortable shifts with them for the coming weeks eek.

But thank you so much for the advice.

Good job! That’s a hard issue to bring forward, but so important. Try to just play it cool until it gets sorted out. 😎🤞😉

I would go to him and tell him you didn't clock out/take a lunch on the days your time sheet is saying.

That way it's non accusatory but let's him know you're watching.

Hi! You make a good point. That was something I was initially thinking of doing.

I think I would have done that if they just added a lunch on my shift or two where I didn't take one. But in this case, they also changed my start and end time on other shifts so that they were shorter. I feel like them giving me lunches AND while also changing my start/end punches was something I didn't want to let slide. Plus, not sure if they're doing it to my other partners.
