So sorry we are out of...rant (self.starbucksbaristas)

Truck hasn’t delivered, well, anything so we have been running on empty for days now. We currently have Vanilla and caramel syrup, and that’s pretty much it. We put multiple signs up and yet people will read the sign and still ask for something we don’t have. The amount of times today that I had to say “I’m so sorry we are out of white mocha” and then the people order it anyways has surpassed my already limited faith in people. We had to turn Mobile Order off because people were finding ways to order things we were out of anyways. Anyone else suffering from this?

Regular mobile ordered his usual drink with vanilla in it. Walked straight up to the counter and we told him we didn’t have vanilla, his response? “I know, you’ve been out of it for three days.” Shift talking to him at the counter proceeded to ask why he ordered his drink if he knew we didn’t have vanilla and isn’t interested in a substitute. He acted surprised and then requested a refund because we didn’t have vanilla, but hat did he think the outcome would be? We told him yesterday we wouldn’t have a truck by tomorrow morning and would still be out of everything but he still showed up.

reminds me of a customer i have that continues to order holiday sprinkle topping on his drink even though we don’t have it. we have it marked out in mobile yet he still continues to order it through the favorites glitch. i explain to him almost daily that we do not have any more holiday sprinkle topping and we we will not be getting any more in. he makes me give him a 90 cent refund every day.

Omg this is us right now. Our order didn’t arrive today and we’ve been out of white mocha and most refreshers. We also got shorted on our last order and people keep ordering stuff that we’re out of despite the big “sorry we’re out” signs on the menu

I’ve noticed the app will glitch and let people order things even though it says that we’re out of stock. So annoying.

If they have it saved in their “favorites” it lets them order it even if it is something marked out 🙄

Yep. I tried because we kept getting so many orders for things we had marked out. So I wanted to do an experiment and see if I could order something that was marked as sold out. It let me.

We ran out of mango dragonfruit base today 💀 I’m sure we’ll be out of strawberry açaí by 9 am tomorrow, not to mention to fresh food for who knows how long. Everyone’s been understanding so far
