Train them on things you didn't know!
Be nice (obviously), first show the standards (before and after covid) and basics, then start showing real life examples of drinks some of your regulars get.
Encourage questions and always keep a positive attitude at every small achievement.
Don't be afraid to show cheatsheets (recipe cards in the store or here on reddit for basic things) to help them remember recipes if they want to learn in their free time!
Have fun and happy training! You'll be awesome at it!

Ask your trainee how they learn best and try to adapt it to their learning style! For example, I'm a kinesthetic learner, so I can watch someone do something many times and I still won't really get it until I physically do it myself. I told my trainer that on day one and he still had a hard time with that. I had to ask him many times if I could do something myself instead of just watching him.
Also, if you're comfortable doing this, ask your trainee for feedback and check in with them at the end of the day to see if there's something you can do to better help them learn.
Good luck training! I was a trainer at a different job and it was incredible challenging, but so much fun!
