i find often with these mobiles its bc people dont know that mocha is the sauce and is not coffee..
M_Night_Sammich1 points2y ago
YES. Similarly I’ll have people ask for a hot chocolate with espresso, or a mocha latte without espresso
Stovetopstuffnbox82 points2y ago
With whip
InsertAliasHere758910 points2y ago
With whip Mr Squidward; with whip..
fairygrrl66658 points2y ago
Once someone called and asked if we sold boiled milk
collusion5437 points2y ago
That’s sounds like a parent of a baby or toddler that is in a desperate situation and needs some hot milk ASAP
frenchfrygirll16 points2y ago
I'm trying to think of an instance where you would serve a child boiled milk.
therealmegluvsu18 points2y ago
It's a relic from days past. Before we had stricter pasteurizing rules for dairy products, milk sometimes contained dangerous bacteria that little babies weren't able to fight off like adults could. Parents would boil the milk to sterilize it, like you would boil unsafe water. It's one of those rules that doesn't really hurt to follow, but isn't necessary anymore.
collusion546 points2y ago
I imagine it would start as boiled to get it hot and then served as warm
Khmera1 points2y ago
Warm milk also helps people fall asleep better. Maybe this parent thought it could help? Edit: something to do with the enzymes, I believe.
lilkiosk49 points2y ago
Reminds me of the man who ordered a white hot chocolate and was upset it was white and said I just gave him milk. So in my true, spiteful nature I filled his tall cup with 12 pumps of mocha for a new hot chocolate :) it’s not just milk now, is it?
throwawaygarbage333315 points2y ago
HAHA I ADDED LIKE 10 PUMPS OF CLASSIC TO A LADYS DRINK THE OTHER DAY BECAUSE SHE “couldn’t taste it”
Khmera3 points2y ago
That's probably because she has/had Covid.
the-homosexualagenda5 points2y ago
Kinda reminds me of customers that would order a carmel or wm frap with no coffee and then say it tastes like vanilla just because it’s white 🤭
lilBalzac41 points2y ago
There is an outbreak suddenly of guests insisting they “don’t want mocha” in the chocolate drinks. You cannot tell them that “mocha is the chocolate “ or they will fight you. You cannot explain that “the mocha sauce is not coffee” or they will torch your car. If you explain the ingredients in our classic hot chocolate to them calmly they will curse your family for 1000 years. The ONLY thing that you can do here is prepare a classic hot chocolate and reassuringly say “of course! Good and chocolatey with no mocha coming right up!”

IVE HAD THIS EXPERIENCE BEFORE AND IT WAS SO STRESSFUL
miniinovaa5 points2y ago
I had one lady who didn’t speak English and oh man I was struggling trying to explain to her that I can’t take “mocha” out of “white mocha” because it’s the same thing. I felt so bad lmao
D735484 points2y ago
I swear ive had the same experience multiple times. "Id like a white mocha no mocha please". Having to explain it to them makes me sound like an asshole.
Used_Thought46721 points2y ago
Have you ever had to ✨show✨ them though? That’s the douchiest feeling thing I’ve ever had to do.
Khmera1 points2y ago
I love your descriptors!
Rochellle26 points2y ago
Received almost the exact same order via mobile a couple weeks ago, except it was with almond milk. Customer came back within 5 minutes to complain that I had given them “plain almond milk”. I kindly pointed out that they ordered hot chocolate with no chocolate.... Of cOuRsE it was an accident and they didn’t mEaN that and I need to remake it. Ugh.
Ashemodragon19 points2y ago
I once had a customer ask for an iced green tea with no tea...so you want ice water?
hmmyeahrightokaythen16 points2y ago
*takes a deep breath* thinks hard for a sec...
nah, I don't get paid enough for this 🙃
Khmera3 points2y ago
So, they just wanted the green. Maybe Starbucks simply needs to have food coloring.
sydbey_19 points2y ago
so basically a vanilla steamer
GingerBeatboxes43 points2y ago
Not even that since hot chocolate doesn't have vanilla anymore
sydbey_20 points2y ago
really?? 😅 totally knew that /s
schrosarus13 points2y ago
Wait really?? I guess the fact that I haven’t worked under the apron for a while is starting to show...
The_Septic_Shock7 points2y ago
They're changing a few drinks come spring, not happy :(
schrosarus2 points2y ago
Oh no...dare I ask which ones?
TheBayesianBandit3 points2y ago
Don’t feel too bad. I haven’t worked at Starbucks since 2009 in high school, yet for some reason I’m still subscribed.
I don’t even remember HC having vanilla in it to begin with. Not sure if that means my memory is off or if it means they added it after I left.
NixFraser14 points2y ago
Wait where do you work I got that order just 2 weeks ago
gavinatoristhatyou67 points2y ago

jackal_bee [OP]1 points2y ago

NixFraser1 points2y ago

Aliciarox111893 points2y ago

jackal_bee [OP]1 points2y ago

darkwolf5232 points2y ago

mrsweezydc1 points1y ago

opalraindrops1 points2y ago

No_Historian_88200 points2y ago
Hot chocolate has vanilla...
Lukeholmy5 points2y ago
Wrong, that changed a while ago...
No_Historian_88201 points2y ago
Oops, we still do it here
jackal_bee [OP]1 points2y ago
yeah I just disregard the change anyway honestly lol
jackal_bee [OP]1 points2y ago
not anymore, they changed the recipe a couple months ago to exclude the pump of vanilla
