Yep! Stores that do it are usually either just complying with the DM asking the SM to make baristas do it, or it's a store that is low in customer connection scores.
My DT store only did it when the SM was on the clock and when she was harassing us about our rock bottom scores.

We do it only when my ASM or SM is there. Our last score wasn’t that bad.

I still don't really get the effectiveness of this. Like it might just be my experiences, but pretty much the only people who want their names said are regulars. Every time we tried to make this happen, it would be the same things. "Why the hell do you need my name?" or just driving up when we ask it

We only did this when our DT card reader was down so we could look up the orders on the cafe POS and ring them up there. That was a fun time 🤣
