I feel the same way, no worries. Like someone else here said: Figure out where your spot is. If it's food, you date the pastries and sandwiches, tidy up that area, make sure things are organized with FIFO.
If not, then typically I do: Run the pills in the espresso machines, while those are cleaning I start on teas, then iced coffee, then backups we need (mocha, caramels, whipped cream). By the time one of those is done, I typically start brewing our first pike batch of the day, and go from there! It's a lot of stocking, cleaning, and making sure everything is ready.
Don't worry too much, it gets a little overwhelming, but once you have a tasklist in your head it gets easier. Write it down if you need to, or let a SSV know that you'd like the tasks written down so you can be better at your job!

find out exactly what your role is. for example, I date the pastries/sandwiches and put away the order so I know that every morning I open those are my tasks. if you don't want to burden anyone with questions ask your supervisor to list your task, write them down if you think you'll forget and just stick to that. if you finish up quickly ask another partner if they need help or look around to see what can be restocked, refilled, or cleaned up before opening.

Ditto to Linda from accounting and slobbering apparition (LOL). Great advice.
On the emotional front—you are not a burden. Internalize that statement. Believe it.
Every task you complete is one someone else doesn’t have to do. You’re a star.
Jobs like this can steal your life force if you let it.
