COVID protocol (self.starbucksbaristas)

I’m a barista in Cheyenne Wyoming and many of my fellow partners and some of my shifts will just walk around with their masks under their chins and we’ve had several outbreaks at my store. I try my best to follow the rules and then the people above me disregard them. I’m thinking about snapping a picture of it while they are off-guard. What should I do?

Tell your DM, and if they don’t listen go to the DMs boss. We can get fired for not wearing them and allowing customers to go maskless in stores according to my DM

Don’t take pictures of your coworkers without their consent, my manager told me that’s a fireable offense 🥸

Oh no! I’m so sorry to hear about this. We’ve had about 8 partners get COVID in the past year. All of them, including myself, have worked multiple days while sick and contagious (I got my husband sick), but we’ve had 0 in-store transmission. We’ve been so fortunate. But also, nobody in my store messes around with masks. We wear them with commitment and it’s definitely made a difference.

You may not need to snap a photo. There is security footage and all. But I would definitely touch base with your DM, especially if you feel unsafe.

I have a question concerning this same issue. At my local store, the few times I’ve been inside to pickup my mobile order, I saw the barista pull his mask down, rub his nose with the back of his hand and go right back to making drinks. Every time I go in there I see him constantly pulling his mask down, to say something to a coworker, run his face..etc. I wouldn’t have done anything, but it was the same person. Multiple times. I’ve had loss in my family from Covid and I take it very seriously. The manager was standing there on a couple of occasions and did nothing. So I figured saying something to her would be useless. I emailed corporate to let them know what was going on. I didn’t use any specifics or try to get anyone fired, just told them they need to tighten their Covid regulations. They emailed me back and said they sent my email to the store manager. Now when I go in, I feel like they’re being mean to me. Does corporate actually give the names of the people who write into them? I feel like that’s not a great policy because it could cause the customer to receive retaliation like I have. I didn’t want to cause any trouble, or get anyone in trouble specifically, I just can’t stand when I see people not taking this thing seriously. Please if anyone could let me know how they handle the email situations and if they do give customer info to the store managers. Thanks.
