Getting yelled at for things that weren’t my fault ...just another day at the ‘bux (self.starbucksbaristas)

We had a window person and a DTO person, and I was DT bar. Well, the two DT people were too busy goofing off with each other and typed just about every order in wrong. Here lately my SM has been acting as though DT times are the most important thing so having to remake every fucking drink was making times go through the roof. For some reason though, this was my fault and not theirs. So I get screamed at (not a gentle scolding, I mean my SM screamed at me and slammed a cup of steamed milk on the counter so hard it burnt me-it was unintentional but what the hell) multiple times before being moved to support bar...where everything is still my fault somehow where orders are being rang in by a new partner on front.

It also didn’t help we have a partner who has no concept of personal space and would get pissed off when i asked that she didn’t stand so close her elbow was in my ribs. She also wouldn’t put lids on drinks and would walk away without telling anyone.

Your SM should be in trouble for burning you. If you feel like an ASM will listen to you and do something, I would talk to one of them. If not then that store is not for you. I hope things get better.

Honestly my SM is really the sweetest, she was so stressed today and while that’s not an excuse for burning me even if it was an accident, I know she didn’t actually mean it. Once things calmed down she did end up pulling me aside and apologizing for freaking out on me the way she did+made sure my hand was okay

Nobody who loses their shit on someone lower rank is “a sweet person.” She pulled you aside later and kissed your ass bc she was scared of getting in legal trouble or getting fired for physically hurting a barista.

Nah that is not normal or acceptable. In a position where you manage employees, that is never acceptable. Even if they don't "mean it"

As far as putting orders in while you’re on DT bar it’s part of being planted. You’re job isn’t to ring in orders. The two people who were on DT should be doing that. If they’re goofing off that’s not on you. I get what you were trying to do. You were trying to help and get the job done but when you’re planted it’s not your responsibility so I see where your manager is coming from. Should they have been that harsh? No. But I do see the frustration. I get it the people on DT weren’t paying attention.

I wasn’t the one putting in orders- I think I worded that wrong and didn’t realize sorry. The two DT people were the ones goofing off while taking orders, which is why they were all wrong bc they weren’t focusing on the customer, but on each other. I know a few orders had been paid out wrong too. I never try to do DTO and bar unless it’s extremely slow/window is figuring something out at the window and there’s only 1-2 drinks on an order

Ohhhhhh I’m sorry I misunderstood.

OP wasn't putting in orders while on DT bar. OP was making orders as specified on the stickers but the stickers were wrong because of DTR/DTO partners goofing around. As a result, there were remakes that OP got unfairly blamed for. SM unjustly blamed OP and burnt OP. SM should have learned the root issue and solved it, it shouldn't have been difficult to do that (the sticker didn't say iced but customer had specified iced)
