i remember making a venti caramel macchiato with long shots and a ton of different syrups. well I wasn’t prepared for the quad blonde long shot i had to pour in. nearly threw out half the milk..

yeaaahhh.. this was about 30 min before close and we usually have 2/3 bars pilled and done for the night but thank god for some reason we only did 1/3 and could use 2 machines at a time

If you tell anyone I said this I'll deny it BUT the mastrena 1s only need to be pilled "at close". If you've pilled, you can make shits again and As Long As You Rinse it a couple times it'll be fine.

Those pills are meant to remove buildup of repeated shots. Give the old girl a couple rounds and nobody will ever know the difference.

oooh.. i only started this last august and we've had the new mastrenas since i've been here but thank you for the tip hehe. i'm working at a different store this week while we are closed for reno so it may come in handy although the mastrena 1s scare me just by looking at them

Before I quit, ours hadn't worked for over a year. Like, it would work for a few minutes now and again, but then it would just stop. Everything would freeze, except for the time, which would freeze later.

that sounds terrible! thank god ours works cause we are a super busy store near lots of businesses. i couldn't imagine not having it

It was pretty awful, but we figured out work-arounds. I got really good at reading the printed labels time-stamps and would group items that way. Or store would have a line from 5 am until close at 9 pm. Customers would wait over an hour most times...
