former barista here, i just saw that the bux just released the new shaken oat milk espresso drinks, and i was wondering what all went into them? are the chocolate and brown sugar flavors syrups, or just toppings, etc?

Cinnamon powder also goes into the brown sugar shaken espresso which isn't advertised but I feel it should be.

As someone with a cinnamon allergy, it absolutely should be advertised. Somehow I missed that on the recipe card, and I was planning to pick one up on my way to work 😳

*Edit to add that I don't think it should be advertised as a personal courtesy to me, but rather the ingredients in all the drinks should be made obvious, especially something that you wouldn't automatically assume is in a drink (such as cinnamon in a brown sugar drink, or caffeine in the refreshers, etc). Our menu signs no longer have the "contains caffeine" disclaimer on the refreshers either*

Oh I definitely agree with this. I know folks with cinnamon allergies as well. It’s sus they aren’t listing it. Starbucks really gives zero fucks about allergies.

I 3d this! The guava passion fruit drink not mentioning the pineapple ginger syrup is one of my great issues. I make sure to mention it anytime someone orders because Allergies are real!

The malt chocolate is a powder that’s mixed in but the brown sugar is a syrup. I love the malt chocolate!

there is no steaming! 😄 it’s shots of espresso poured over ice in a shaker with the syrup and shaken, with milk splashed on top, similar to how the double shot on ice went.

Oh thank goodness, I have celiac disease so it’s good to know that hot drinks are still on the table! Definitely good to know i should stay away from the shakers 😅

Also, PSA for all you lovely customers and baristas: the malt powder isn’t gluten free.

with all the customizations we do, we put a lot of different things into different parts of drinks, and i wouldn’t be surprised if we see tiktok drinks including the chocolate malt powder coming up. you should always let your barista know so we can help. i’m more than happy to clean utensils extra, just let us know! (of course be aware that while we will go the extra mile, we can’t guarantee anything because of shared utensils).

I’m countering these weirdos in the comments & saying that everyone at my store hatedddd the chocolate almond milk shaken espresso drink but universally agreed the brown sugar oat milk one is insanely good & like crack lol

malt chocolate one tastes like chocolate milk hands down. 10/10 would order that drink myself. I dont like the cinnamon in the brown sugar espresso, but also i just dont like cinnamon in general, but that one is also good

I’m a huge fan of our brown sugar syrup for sure! Its so versatile! I’ve made many if my own creations with it for sure
