Just practice, practice, practice is all I can really suggest. For milk steaming I know there are some wonderful tutorials on YouTube as well.

It helped me to look at the similarities. Most lattes have the same steps, the only thing that changes is the syrup/milk/etc. Same thing for refreshers/teas and fraps. It'll make more sense as you get more practice!

this might sound a bit weird, but quizlet! for some reason, there is a plethora of quizlet flash card sets and they were super helpful when i started on bar. review the recipe cards on your breaks, and if you do use quizlet, be careful when looking at things like milk steaming times, because some are for the mastrena I vs the mastrena II. be super humble if needing to ask for help from more seasoned partners, and if you have a break during your shift, do not be afraid to ask an experienced barista or shift to walk you through/quiz you on how to make some drinks! we do what we like to call barista bootcamp at my store, where we just guide green beans through how to make drinks step by step so they can build up muscle memory. practice, and you’ll have it down in no time!!

I have been reaccessing the Retail Training on the Partner Hub on my own time to help with confidence. Granting it's so basic but it is a lot more meaningful than it was before I even trained or experienced a busy bar. Also I look at the drink recipes on the app where customers order. Customers know the recipes so much better than I do but they have to know their drinks only!
I started just as the large very popular Sbux less than a mile away closed for renovation so we were very slammed with double customers and even though I had 3 days of training at the now-closed store, shifts could not afford to put a green bean like me on bar, so I've had 8 weeks of DTR with a little DTO and Front (although in my experience Shifts like to handle Front/warming themselves.) Finally I'm getting on bar and getting a little better every time but I have to remind that I was trained in the first week of January and did not get a chance to reinforce that training when it was fresh. Add to that I'm a minimalist who enjoys black Pike, so the stuff in these drinks blows me away sometimes! Also, with the right customer, just be honest. I was making a venti macchiato yesterday and realized that what I had made was a latte because I put the shots in first! It was for a cafe customer who had been standing/waiting and seemed friendly so I told her I had made a mistake and put the shots in first and she said no problem, her SO wasn't going to even get to drink it for a couple hours!
