You could scout the store and see how much traffic they get. You could also get the app and try to familiarize yourself with the menu. But overall your first few days will be watching videos and reading stuff on the computer, plus you’ll have a personal trainer that will show you around the store and give you some guidance on every station. Unlike fast food where you are usually stuck on one station, you’ll be eventually on all stations in one day.

The store is literally around the corner from my house so it’ll only take a couple mins to drive there. It’s located at a service station but it’s never that busy, even during peak hours.

I would say for the most part that customers are pretty okay, but every now and again, my store will get an entitled customer lol. Training went super fast for me, and even after a month and a half of being a partner, I sometimes feel overwhelmed on bar. Don't be afraid to ask for help from your shift leads and other baristas, and you should be all good to go! It's better to take a few extra minutes making the correct drink than to guess and hope that it's right!

I worked at Mcdonald’s before Starbucks too. It’s kind of the same (?) and you’ll miss that dang Mcdonald’s blender for the fraps/smoothies once you get into frappuccinos. But as for customers... Mcdonald’s has some shitty customers but they can’t beat the shittiness of Starbucks customers. Sbux has a bigger crowd of people who feel entitled and like throwing tantrums to get their way. They also don’t understand the concept “No we can’t do that, it’s against policy”.
It’s also way more fast paced (in my opinion at least) but that depends on your location and if you’re DT, cafe only, or licensed i suppose. Mobile orders and tiktok drinks will also eat you alive.

I imagine so! If you can handle the craziness of McD’s, I’m sure you’ll be fine! I’ve seen some crazy shit, but I’m sure you’ve seen worse 😂
