I have a lot of lower back pain from an accident and I’m fine while standing, but whenever I need to bend down or stretch/lean to grab something/lift something not “heavy” (like leaning out of the drive thru window or filling ice bins) it causes a lot of pain. I don’t have medical insurance so I can’t afford a trip to the hospital or doctor. I’ve been mostly front or DTO (not window), my SSVs and SM literally won’t allow me to do anything else so I don’t hurt myself further. I’m super thankful for having a team who cares but dear god another day on front is going to make me lose my mind.
What would you recommend for back pain? I take ibuprofen/tylenol/aleve/etc when I can to keep the pain at a minimum but it’s so painful to move sometimes and it’s affecting my everyday life as well

I have scolosis and fibromyalgia, so most of my pain is in my back. I have a CBD cream that works really well, or if you can get voltaren cream that may work for you. Heating pads are going to be your best friend when you’re at home. I also have a little TENS unit that works well along with a heating pad, or on its own! It does have wires though so not good for work unfortnatley.

I broke My back a couple years ago and I get sore easily especially as a barista. My go-tos are A: lying on a large wooden table, or B: putting two tennis balls in a sock and kind of rolling it across my back, esp on the floor/ wooden table. It sounds a little silly but it’s so relaxing

There's several physical therapy youtube, tik tok, instagram etc channels. You'll probably want to do what's called "accessory work" to get you stabilizer muscles holding your spine in place better. I'm a huge fan of Bird Dogs after dislocating my hip years ago. Back pain is awful!

Honestly, get a chiropractor. Especially one who specialized in ABC (advanced biocranial correction, I believe). Chiropractors are often independent and are much more affordable, especially if you’re in this much pain. I used to not justify the cost, but the $40 every other month that allows me to work pain free is worth every bit of that tip money.
Until then, “dynamic” stretches (little moving things like arm circles) that don’t cause pain. There should be YouTube videos on this. Improving posture in car to ensure your knees are equal to or below the height of your hips (I sit on a blanket to correct this) and simple walks as often as you can! 💕 best of luck!

A car accident is the reason for my back pain unfortunately 😭 I walk my dog multiple times a day and those make a difference for sure. I’ll definitely try out the stretches and chiropractor though!
