What is the “right” way to make it?

Like a vanilla latte w caramel drizzle.
If you add the drizzle to the bottom instead of the top, whyyyyy? I'm pretty sure everyone who orders an upside down caramel macchiato is asking it that way because they don't want to taste the bitterness of the coffee and prefers it mixed in.
Or at least for me. But i do understand why they do put the caramel on bottom... we ask for it upside down, that would be technically correct.

Ok see I thought they mean shots on bottom and milk on top not caramel drizzle on bottom...now I question everything.

Okay, I’m not going crazy! I’m assuming this customer was having a bad morning and yelled at me for pouring the shots first??? Didn’t say anything until after I handed off drink, even though they had been on the phone throughout all of our interactions, I offered to remake it to their liking but just start drinking it while walking away and yelling it was wrong? I don’t know, today wasn’t great overall

I would say just shots get "flipped" to the bottom. Like a latte macchiato was.
