Tips for barista with arthritis (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by badvforvever
Hii does anyone have tips for working with arthritis?? I have it really bad and while it’s usually bearable, my block has been extremely understaffed(working 10x harder/faster) and extremely busy due to all the promotions. Anddd to top it off I slipped and fell yesterday :( Like i said it’s usually bearable but today I actually wanted to break down in tears with the increased soreness and stress. I really don’t like taking excessive amounts of pills because it’s just never enough relief

I feel this, I don't have arthritis but I do have fibromyalgia, and I honestly brace up and pre-medicate so if the pain starts intensifying I at least have something in my system. That and definitely communicate with your SSVs/SM! Mine are really good at accommodating on flare-up days :)
Oh, and if you're in a legal state, definitely would recommend some high CBD/low THC creams for your more painful points. That helps a lotttt

Ugh that’s awful I’m sorry, I deal with tendinitis in my wrist and sometimes it sucks, I wear a thumb/wrist brace that helps when it gets bad, and I know you said no pills but Aleve does help me get through the shift. Not sure how similar my ailment is to yours... sorry and good luck!

Its night and day. Absolutely amazing. The shots themselves do hurt as its a needle going into a joint but the relief is so worth it.

I believe theyre dexamethasone. If youre in the US, the best way to start the process is by talking to an ortho doc about it
