instead of on mastrena 1 where all the buttons are kind of lined up at the top, there's a little control panel in the middle of the machine with the buttons used to do 1/2 decaf, ristretto, or long shots (there's a 1/2 for 1/2 decaf, r for ristretto and l for long shots; pretty sure there's an updosed button or something too but in all honesty i've never used it). there's also a different little control panel where the shot comes out of that lets you decide whether you want a blonde (left arrow), regular espresso (just hitting the shot # button), or decaf (right arrow). there are 3 hopper chambers, one for each espresso flavor, and the arrow coincides with that hopper's location.
if someone wanted a blonde and a decaf shot (which really the only time i've had this happen was with me, when i ordered it ~~cus i'm stupid~~), you'd have to queue the decaf shot and the blonde shot separately, since there is no such thing as decaf blonde shots (cus the point of blonde shots is the higher caffeine level).
sorry this is such a long ramble but this is the best i could do to format this info lol! i moved from a mastrena 1 at my original store to a mastrena 2 at my current one and found i like the new machine a lot more (despite my love and appreciation for the old machines). it took a while to get used to but it was totally worth the wonky transitioning.
