COVID coach (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by yakhael
fairly new partner here (298). I got vaccinated on saturday and I have a pretty low grade fever and chills as well. I called my SSV and told her what was up and she did the Covid coach with me over the phone and it told me not to come in. I’m a super anxious person in general and always hate calling out so I’m a little freaked out about it lol. if you were a SSV in this situation would you be upset about it or did I do the right thing?

No, I would have absolutely appreciated this! Calling and letting someone know is such a big help, plus doing the cc was a big "for sure" don't come in acknowledgement lmao.

I hope your side effects are not too hard on you! patiently awaiting my turn.

The updated covid coach says that your symptoms are likely the result of the vaccine, but says you can stay home if you feel too ill to work, just be in touch with your store about what's going on. I would rather you stay home.

You did the right thing. My GM got the vaccine and she had a rough first day. Fever, chills, headache, pains. Second day, she was completely fine with some arm pain. Hang in there, this too shall pass.

definitely did the right thing! it’s always a little frustrating when someone has to call out but we completely get it and we’d rather you be safe/healthy than come to work

Unrelated to the vaccine symptoms, but does anyone know where a sore throat falls on the Covid Coach??

Under the question that asks in the past 10 days have you had cough, shortness of breath or difficultly breathing. It’s says OR two or more symptoms then lists all the symptoms, sore throat being one of them.

You’re allowed to come to work if you have symptoms and have been vaccinated. But if you don’t think you can work you don’t have to come in. It’s all in the weekly update.
