Hi fellow beansprouts, I've got a story and a quick question.
The other day I had a guest come up and ask for a TRENTA cold brew NO WATER and only light coconut milk. He clarified that he doesn't want the water but to fill the room with extra cold brew.
I told him since our cold brew is concentrate, we have to dilute it before serving, but he just went on and on about how he gets this at other stores all the time. So I let him know that other stores already dilute their cold brew, so they don't have to manually add water to it, however bc ours is concentrate, we have to.
He eventually just asked me for however much undiluted we could give him in a trenta and to fill the rest of the space with coconut milk. My question is: are we allowed to just... Fill a cup with cold brew for a guest if they ask??? Are there legal ramifications to just handing a guest a cup of pure cold brew concentrate? Because I feel like there are😳. Ty!!
TL,dr: a guest wanted a trenta cup of undiluted cold brew with lite coconut milk. Are we even allowed to do that??

It's definitely not illegal. Ask your manager because it's up to them and something like that on a daily/multiple customer basis can effect your pars but my personal policy is "sure whatever you want dude."

we have a women who gets a trenta cold brew no ice no water. what we do for her is literally grab cold brew from one of the pulled toddy’s in the back.

Lol my assumption is that she stores is at home and makes her own creations with it because I'd be very concerned if she wanted all that just to drink it😳

but doesn’t it mess up the keg amount and the cutting process? it would be more watered down if a cube is less than the usual measurement.
oogly-musician1 points2y ago
we usually pitcher and dilute the cube ourself or have a smaller keg
medicinexx1 points2y ago
tbh that’s not worth it just because someone is a caffeine fiend and can’t just drink regular cold brew 🤣🤣 i would just say sorry can’t do that. of course y’all are free to do ya thang.
medicinexx4 points2y ago
i absolutely would not serve cold brew concentrate. “oh what store does it for you? the store on x street? okay i’ll make sure to call their store manager and let them know they are breaking policy by serving uncut cold brew, and get that fixed right away! thanks so much for letting me know!”
melodiic_10 points2y ago
it ain't against corporate policy or illegal to serve uncut cold brew lmao what? it's just a weirdly specific annoying request that most stores can't do anymore because of the kegs/nitro system. at my first store one of my regulars ordered a venti no water cold brew every single morning and then got a refill before leaving every single morning
medicinexx1 points2y ago
haha i was just making the ‘other store’ joke, i never said it was illegal. it does mess with making kegs and i would refuse
melodiic_1 points2y ago
it definitely does haha i would refuse too, but if i worked at a store that didn't serve nitro i'd just shrug and ring in their excessive caffeine
stardreamer004 points2y ago
yeah I don’t get why you guys are so scared or why you would call that’s store and tell them they are braking company policy when they aren’t? It isn’t illegal or breaking company policy ? some people just like it like that ... We keep a pitcher or uncut cold brew in the drive fridge for this very reason !! (If anyone wants a cold brew with no water)
stardreamer001 points2y ago
all good I understand!
rivveeerrrrr [OP]1 points2y ago
I just have anxiety🤷🏽♀️ lol I just asked an honest question
rivveeerrrrr [OP]3 points2y ago
Lolll yeah I mean if the other store does it for you then why are u here?? Yk? I don't wanna be the one who gets in trouble or fired for doing that😅
AvoFromCado3 points2y ago
Honestly I’ve been asked that and just said we didn’t have uncut cold brew because of the kegs lol
MrsOceanGrown2 points2y ago
When you type that order with “no water” into the system it accounts for the inventory of cold brew you are using instead of water. If the customer were to call corporate they most likely would agree with the customer. We’ve never had issues doing this at my store.
iwantmysharpieback2 points2y ago
It wouldn't mess with making kegs at all. If you have a 5ltr cube, you put 5 ltr iced water. Only have 3.5 liters of concentrate? Use 3.5 liters water.

Hey at 2 of my previous store we kept pitcher of uncut cold brew for those customers wanting no water in...so totally ok...like someone else said “whatever you want dude”
