so today I was on bar and I’m used to extra extra caramel.. caramel walls.. ok.. it’s gross. but today, everyone, we had a woman order a grande caramel Frappuccino and asked for, and I quote, “tons and tons and tons and tons of extra caramel in the bottom of the cup,” so.. being disgusted and annoyed at the same time I LITERALLY filled up about 1/3 of the cup with dark caramel before pouring in the Frappuccino.. and when it was handed out to her in drive thru she seemed so happy that /finally/ someone gave her extra caramel.. like... 🤮🤮🤮
why???? at that point you’re just drinking caramel sauce
Tall_Draw_52153 points2y ago
Starbucks should really put a limit on it. Or charge more and more the more you ask for.
rio8envy719 points2y ago
I agree with this. There should be an up charge for extra caramel.
Tall_Draw_5216 points2y ago
Isn’t there a $.60 charge?
rio8envy79 points2y ago
Not if it doesn’t already come with caramel drizzle or caramel sauce. So like a caramel macchiato with extra caramel is the same price as a caramel macchiato with light or regular caramel and a caramel ribbon crunch extra dark caramel doesn’t have an up charge for extra dark caramel or caramel drizzle. Op should have charged the customer in this case for dark caramel sauce because the regular caramel frap (which by using context clues seems to be the case) comes with drizzle and the syrup not the dark caramel sauce. If it was the ribbon crunch then it would.
Tall_Draw_5214 points2y ago
Bah you’re right!
hopelovepeace337 points2y ago
Well it’s like Starbucks not charging extra for the refreshers when they want no water & ice just the straight juice & then when you fill it to the proper line you’re suppose to they want to throw a tantrum about it. They aren’t going to charge more because they can just increase drink prices.
Tall_Draw_5211 points2y ago
I feel like juice is less expensive than caramel though. Same point however.
hopelovepeace335 points2y ago
It is but just straight juice should cost more than the refreshers with water and lemonade. I’ve got a customer at my store that comes through everyday and gets a trenta strawberry base and that’s literally 3 to 4 regular refreshers depending on the size so Starbucks should start charging for a full cup of our base for refreshers.
Tall_Draw_5212 points2y ago
No no you’re right it definitely should.
oatmealstan16 points2y ago
i have a regular who gets a grande caramel macchiato with whip in a venti cup - and then they ask for the entire rest of the cup to be filled with caramel drizzle. i feel like i’m commiting a crime when i make it
sydbey_ [OP]5 points2y ago
oh, my god.. I honestly can’t believe people drink that shit!!!
Aliciarox111893 points2y ago
Maybe that's all they eat all day... One hopes
msviniva8 points2y ago
I got asked for “extra extra caramel only on the sides, none on the bottom”... are you familiar with gravity?
mhalski8 points2y ago
*takes a bite out of my healthy salad* interesting....
InsertAliasHere75894 points2y ago
Dude, this comment right here GOT me! It's like you're watching animal planet or something! "Hmm.. curious creatures..."
XxTRUEPINOYxX7 points2y ago
Honestly if they ever ask for a ton imma open it from the top and pour I right in idgf. I will meet your request and they better not complain. Last job one dude wanted extra jalapeño I gave him half the container and said enjoy. And went on my break to see if he ate it all. Sure enough the dude did! And thank me for it. Lmfaooo
the1noir6 points2y ago
I have a lady who use to come at least 3 days out of the week and she would get a Carmel frap woth xtraaaaaa Carmel. Literally I would uncap the Carmel bottle and pour in a little more then half the bottle in the cup. Smh. She’s a nice lady though, she would tip all the time. Haven’t seen her in a while. Rip.
Jadenvicious15 points2y ago
I don't understand this, at that point you aren't even drinking or enjoying the coffee. Just go to the store and buy a bottle of caramel. It would be cheaper and it even comes with a sippy lid attached for you.
sydbey_ [OP]2 points2y ago
couldnt have said it better than this
givemeapples4 points2y ago
I used to have a regular at my old store who would walk to starbucks everyday in an attempt to be "fit and healthy". She would then order a tall iced caramel macchiato (small size on purpose with the intention of "consuming less calories") with nonfat milk (to consume less fat) and then.... she would ask for extra extra extraaaaa caramel drizzle. Like she wasn't happy if the caramel didn't come up to the bottom black line. :/
lunarlandscapes3 points2y ago
I honestly don't mind extra on the sides, but for me it's when they want a solid wall of caramel at the bottom. I once had a customer who literally asked for as much caramel as I was allowed to give her. I really took that request, and fucking sent it. To the point that my coworker was worried it may be too much. When we passed it out she told me I was the only one who had ever given her enough. I still think of her sometimes
Litfitness2 points2y ago
That’s why So many ppl are overweight and have health issues they don’t understand what they’re doing to their bodies.
rio8envy72 points2y ago
Honestly you should’ve charged her for the dark caramel. Technically it’s not part of the caramel frap so it’s really an addition to the drink.
sydbey_ [OP]3 points2y ago
I’m pretty sure they charged her extra at the dtr when I told her how much dark caramel I added
edit: sometimes when we run out of the regular caramel we put dark caramel in our caramel bottles, so that’s why I added DC vs regular
rio8envy72 points2y ago
Good.
dumbflatwhite2 points2y ago
we had a woman order a vanilla bean frapp the same way!!!!! she literally BOUGHT a short cup of caramel because the “extra extra caramel” that was already in there wasnt enough🙃
rio8envy711 points2y ago
We should not be allowed to sell a short cup of caramel.
sydbey_ [OP]4 points2y ago
it’s one of the most revolting things to me I don’t know why but when people order that way I just.. stop.
Slooooooff1 points2y ago
There’s this lady at my old store who would come by everyday and get a venti french vanilla frapp and ask for extra extra caramel, literally had to use half of a full drizzle bottle for her each time. 🤮
aprilraindropss1 points2y ago
i had a customer who would literally ask for an inch of caramel drizzle at the bottom of her trenta iced coffee (but she gets iced coffee with almond milk and sf vanilla now)
sydbey_ [OP]1 points2y ago
she realized her drink was gross and felt the need to change
NervosaNervous1 points2y ago
We have a person that does this. She did it with the Salted Caramel Mocha frapp, then with the Caramel Ribbon Crunch frapp after the SCM went out of season. She asks for a layer of caramel on the bottom that’s at minimum one inch thick, then wants another layer of caramel in the middle. She will throw a tantrum if she doesn’t think there’s enough caramel. Lately, though, we’ve been out of dark caramel and the caramel sugar topping, so we haven’t been able to make the CRC, and she hasn’t been back since.
dwightshru1 points2y ago
I like putting the extra caramel in the cup. it looks pretty
