First off, congrats ! You’re going to love it !!
What you should know going in: it’s going to be a lot. It’s going to be super stressful at first and even some days when you know everything you will still be stressed ! You’re going to mess up and make mistakes and spill, it’s okay. The better/fun days will come !
What I wished I knew going in: People are going to yell/be rude to you for no reason. It’s okay, don’t let them ruin your day ! (The nicer you are to someone yelling/being a dick the harder it is for them to continue to be mean). Some people are miserable and can’t help to yell at you rather than simply saying my drink was made incorrectly! (Even if you didn’t make said drink)
Info for a new barista: ask as much questions as you can, constantly try to learn or memorize drinks, typing them in helps. Just practice practice practice and take it one drink at a time , then when you can bev sequence take it no more than 2 drinks at a time !! You got this ! Also you’re fellow partners turn into your best of friends and it’s so fun ! Good luck. ((:

Most Starbucks will literally suck the life out of you. Hopefully you have a somewhat good manager. A lot of them forget where they came from... meaning their job title gets to their head. Day shift and night shift will forever have an ongoing feud for no reason. Frappuccinos are fun at first but you’ll learn to hate that too. Customers are entitled af... you’ll see! There is A LOT to remember.
