just tired (self.starbucksbaristas)

writing this while on my 10. my manager doesn’t care about us. multiple partners out quarantining. store just as busy as every, hours modified only slightly. tired of picking up slack of my coworkers. our store is a disaster and no one cleans up after themselves, then they ask where my drinks are and when they’ll be ready for drive thru customers. i get you’re waiting but please stop asking me when i have multiple drinks being made while also having to clean up everyone else’s mess. i don’t want to work for this company anymore. rarely any good days for me when i’m here.

I feel this very deeply. Although I finally quit after 5 years right before the shutdown, reading your post brought me the horrible feelings I felt in those final days. Starbucks is a good starter job, open your eyes to the reality of human beings that roam this earth and teaches you how to be in stressful situations. But you deserve a better job that doesn’t make you feel like this. It’s out there I promise.

I feel like this is the story of strong partners at every store 🥵

yeah it’s hard. and i’m a newer partner picking up slack for coworkers who have been there for years. of course every store has a different way of operating but the way my partners seem to do things just creates more room for mistakes. doesn’t help that we have a manager who is up our ass about drive thru times but isn’t at all concerned with our physical and mental health

I hear ya! Sometimes the expectations don’t make sense in the context of what’s going on. I feel like it would help if leadership would just take it easier on those that pull their weight (and more!)

I hear you and I wish I could make it better. I’ve been a partner for over 10 years and the past 12 months have been the worst in my entire career life. You and every one of us MAKE this company and Starbucks needs to treat us with more respect. We need more coverage, more pay and more to buffer us from the abuse we experience every day that we work during this pandemic. A meditation app, some Lyra counseling and a free panini every day is not good enough. Starbucks needs to do better.

Drive thru stores are the worst. That’s why I left to a cafe store

i understand your pain so much. on saturdays our busiest time i’m stuck with a coworker who works really slow and makes a huge mess while my manager sits in the back talking to his gf i’m on register, food and even helping out with drinks when i get the chance honestly i wish we’d have another employee or someone with more experience 😐💀

yeah even without partners isolating we’re still always understaffed. we shouldn’t ever have one person doing dto window and food or one on both cs and front pos. sometimes it’s okay if we’re dead but as a drive thru store that’s rarely ever a thing. it’s way too much for one person to have to run around being responsible for so many different things, and still get nagged about wait times and customer connection

this was literally me before I resigned last week

Sometimes it’s best to see about transferring to a different store, every store has their downfalls! I like working for SB more than I thought and even I’ve run into minor issues at my store. It’ll get better but if not, maybe it’s best to move on to bigger and better opportunities! Best of luck ❤️
