In love with the new drink, how can I make it at home? (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by SierraGuac
Hey! I'm recovering from an eating disorder and am trying to enjoy flavored coffee again, so I ended up in the Starbucks drive through with the new shaken espresso iced oat milk drink.
I love it, so much, how can I make it ay home? So I can enjoy the same flavors with maybe less calories?

I definitely recommend a moka pot! It’s a stovetop coffee maker that brews coffee similar to espresso but it costs much less than an espresso machine. Use whatever coffee you like - you can buy blonde espresso at Starbucks which is the exact same as we use in the new drink. At home I pour 2-3 oz of coffee from the moka pot into a glass, stir in maybe 1/2 tsp of brown sugar, fill the glass with ice and top with a splash of oatmilk. It’s really good!

You can also shake it in a cocktail shaker if you like the way it tastes shaken! I love shaken drinks at work because it gets it super cold and aerated.

I have been lookng at espresso machines but they are so out of budget! I will def check out a moka pot!

Get the little 2 cup brikka if you can, it makes a really great faux espresso coffee

Oh and good luck on your healing lovely, I hope you are the path of knowing even if you don't love all of you then you at least know this body of yours is useful and works very hard. 💕 (it took me way too long to get to neutrality let alone positivity)

thank you, it is a slow path but we will all get there one day!

Brownsugar melted into your espresso shots, some ice, a mixer. Mix the shots, brownsugar and ice in whatever shaker you have and dump it into your cup. Then dump the milk to about the top and there you go.

What is the recipe for shots and pumps ? Like how much does each size get of it
Nonbeenie_Barista 1 points 2y ago
Small is 2 shots and 3 pumps, medium is 3 shots and 4 pumps, large is 4 shots and 6 pumps

Hey, so proud of you! You’re amazing and thank you for sharing 🥰

If you’re looking for something a little lower calorie, I bought my own syrup at world market! Torani makes a sugar free brown sugar cinnamon flavor and it isn’t half bad. You could make something similar with coffee or espresso (you could use instant if you need a cheaper option!), pour it over ice with your syrup, add some oat milk, and bam! I make mine at home when I’m not working and I’m pretty happy with that :)

I used maple syrup to make something similar. Just fill ice in the cup you want to drink from to the top. 2-4 shots of espresso depending on the size of your cup. Mix hot espresso with syrup or sugar and shake with ice till it's super foamy, fill cup to top and add about 1 oz of milk of choice. Cinnamon on top if you want.

Btw I used a shaker blender bottle.

ah i never thought to try shaking it in a shaker bottle!
dazzy_17 1 points 2y ago
Yeah you just need to have space in the bottle so it can phone

U can buy the syrup bottle for like $15 I believe. Then all you would need is espresso, oatmilk, cinnamon powder, ice and a shaker. But you can probably skip the shaker if you want to save a bit of cash and just make it like an ice latte.

It seems unlikely to be able to buy the syrup right now at least. There is a pretty significant shortage atm. Also, I don’t believe a corporate store would sell one. Now you might have more luck at a Target, Safeway, B&N, etc.

We wouldn’t sell it retail. You prob won’t be able to get it from license. There’s no bar code on the bottle so they wouldn’t be able to ring it up.

Unfortunately we don’t sell the brown sugar syrup.
