The water thing kills me. Once made myself a cup of water on bar, kept way off in the corner, no way it would ever be mistaken for a customers drink. Got yelled at by my shift and she brought the water all the way to the back. About an hour later I walk to the back to take a sip of water and the same shift screamed at me for abandoning my post (there were no mobile tickets and no one in DT). Ridiculous, I get thirsty working bar, either cover me for the 30 seconds it takes for me to sip my water or let me have my water by the bar, I’m human.

We're not supposed to drink or eat near anything that'd be considered a food preparation area due to health code reasons but I get dehydrated really easy and we're always understaffed so I don't even have time to go to the bathroom until I'm on a break.

I get why, but the solution isn’t to punish me when I do the right thing. If my water has to be in the back, fine, let me actually be able to drink it then.

For the shoes thing: go to a running store and get fitted. Make sure to try them on, you should feel slightly uncomfortable with the arches pushing against your feet. Not painful, just oddly uncomfy. Then get those little pedicure kits from the dollar tree and pop those little weird toe spreaders on while watching tv. It'll help move your foot bones back into their straight lines by relaxing those muscles and tendons.

I used to hobble when getting up in the morning.

Maybe you just don’t feel comfortable doing this because you don’t want to leave your partners hanging and I understand but people at my store leave when it’s time for them to get off and I think you should do the same, especially considering you’re situation.

Yes, my shifts know when I’m off because I’ll tell them every five minutes. “Hey! I was supposed to be off at 3...it’s almost 3:15...” Like, I get they’re busy and need time to figure out something especially if there’s a lot of customers but I live 35 minutes away and I have hella homework every night, I don’t have to time to hang around any longer than I have to. They get annoyed but best bet they’re out the second their shift ends, not even a minute past no matter how busy.

Exactly so if you need to leave then leave. It’s not your responsibility to stay overtime because their employees are late.

this! their staffing and lack of time management is not my problem. i don’t get paid enough to hang around for 30 minutes because of someone who wakes up 10 minutes before their 3pm shift
