Stop trying to order at the window (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by jelizt
Today I had 2 women pull up to the window and they were all giggly and saying how they didn’t see the speaker so they weren’t able to order

Me: Yea it’s on the opposite side of the building

Them: Well can we just order here our order is simple

Me: Is it a hot coffee?

Them: *names 3 Frappuccino’s and a cake pop*

Me Thinking to myself: *WTF THATS NOT A SIMPLE ORDER*

Me: Yea I’m sorry I have a line with people who have been waiting so you’ll have to order at the speaker.

Then they lose the nice attitudes they initially had and are all huffy and just say okay and drive around. When they get to the speaker they’re literally yelling they’re order at me over the headset. Normally I’m the type to give attitude back but I chose the ‘kill’em with kindness’ thing and I definitely made them feel bad for being assholes.

I really don’t think people understand that you literally have to stop you’re entire sequence to make whatever they order at the window. It’s just so annoying. Like it’s not my fault you sat in the line without ordering.

i mean i don’t see why not especially when it’s fraps and shit. like especially my drive thru, it’s already long enough without ppl skipping the box and holding up the line, it’s so unfair to literally everyone else

At my store at least. If there’s a line we send them back around. If there’s no line then usually we let it slide

Even when there is no one in line, I send them to the box to order. We have a lot of customers that do it, and if let them order at the window, it ends up being a bad habit.

Agree! But someone called corporate on me for doing that. Will I keep doing it anyway? YES! I don’t reward bad behavior.
