Sometimes a guy named Brian will come I’m and we’ll type Ryan into the sticker and they make a big scene at the handoff plane being like “I’ve been waiting this Ryan guy ordered the same drink as me what is going on here I’ve been waiting on my latte with 16 modifications that no one else could have possibly ordered at the same time” and I’ll be like “oh this is probably yours and we misheard the name, you did order this latte with x y z right” and they’ll be like “yeah but my names Brian not Ryan can you check if it’s almost ready” 😂😭
And at my store this happens a lot... people being upset that we misheard their name and not wanting to take the drink with the wrong name

Nope but I accidentally gave a nickname out loud we had for a customer and he said he loved it. I hear Kevin and I automatically think kev-dog. So that’s what I put and he didn’t notice and now he said thanks and looks forward to it. Lol. But maybe with common names like if two mikes come in and one picks up the wrong Mike’s order. But i agree with most peoples post on here. No Karen is that diabolical. Except maybe the Caren with a C.

Some customers don't, some do. And the ones that do get bothered by it are a pain to deal with.
When I first started working I misheard the customer's name and when the lady finally asked about her drink, she really said "I'm a GOLD MEMBER, my name is X, this is unacceptable. I need a refund".

Nothing as dramatic, but I live in Canada and but one time my manager was on till and he spelled a lady's name in an unusual way. Think a Mary to Marie situation. The lady kinda glared at it and went ugh I guess this is how they spell it ""Where He's From"" and me, a whole latine immigrant, stood there like ma'am he's from Scotland. I was low key scared she would hear my accent :))
