3 week streak (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by rnaggie53
Just speaking into the void that I’ve been feeling low these past couple weeks. Work is been hard because we just opened a brand new store with mostly newly hired baristas so I’ve really had to pull my weight as I’ve been there about 6 months already. I have only had only one day off in the past 2 1/2 weeks because they keep needing coverage (ppl calling out/taking isolations for suspicious reasons) & I can’t seem to turn down overtime. My friend at work had a family emergency on my day off & I couldn’t let her down. So I’m like on the brink of a breakdown.
But anyways it always feels better to know I’m not alone. Can anyone relate?
My next day off now is Friday I will have worked an entire 3 weeks straight.

Former partner here.

In June I spent 3.5 weeks evacuating Americans from west Africa during the pandemic. No days off. Everyday was at least a 12 hour day. It’s no different than you putting in your all though arguably you had better weather probably :)

So I feel you. I really do. There is a light at the end and your ARE appreciated. I promise.

You got this!

Dude take a day off. My manager yelled at me for working too much once and I have trouble saying no so I completely get it. I know it’s hard but it’s ok to say no.
