i have the standard khaki/brown laced up timberlands. are those ok?

The dress code I was given when I started on December 2020 says khaki and brown are on the dress code color palette. It only says that shoes can have a small amount of accent color, and they must be close-toed with backs and cover top of foot, no heels, and no canvas/fabric. So I think you should be ok, assuming you are in the US.

ask your SM. brown is technically not in the dress code but our SM is okay with it

I have a pair of brown tims i wear to work! I asked my sm before doing it and he was fine with it!

I wore standard Tims to my first sip/orientation and the manager said they're in dress code (he was pointing out what me & the other new girl were wearing plus what he was wearing to give us examples while going over dresscode)! Although, those are pretty pricey shoes and you WILL spill stuff on your shoes, so do buy sealant for them if you plan to wear them plus nubuck leather cleaner!!

thanks guys! i emailed my sm since im training on tues but i was wondering in case he says no, would adidas continentals work too? they're leather and white with an accent color

Those should be fine I would think, as long as the accent color isn't too prominent. Tbh I've come to realize a lot of dress code stuff depends on the store, but if they've already said no to your timbs then I suspect your particular SM takes it fairly seriously, so best to err on the side of caution!

yeah i used to work at a licensed store and they were pretty lax on the dress code. they literally just said dark bottoms and a black top or the black polo shirt i was given w the logo. for shoes, it didnt matter because we just wore slip covers

Yeah I've been jumping around a lot of stores since returning from Covid LOA and the variance in terms of dress code enforcement is *staggering* lol. One store where even the manager was wearing some bright yellow and black mesh top and heeled boots, another where I got scolded for wearing black and white vans. There's truly no consistency, lol.

I feel bad, like...is my store the only one that doesn’t care about dress code? We can wear anything we want, but granted- not like our manager is ever actually at the store ever since covid. If i couldn’t wear bright colors, i’d probably have to quit, my wardrobe doesn’t work with that.

I quickly learned that our dress code was enforced differently by different shift supervisors. I just ordered a few Starbucks T-shirts and wear dark jeans with no holes and call it a day. I don’t have the energy to keep up with who I’m working with.
