We need to bombard media outlets with our stories of abuse, assault, and battery. Nothing will change until we get loud and vocal. (self.starbucksbaristas)

Customer threw a full cup of ice water at a barista. After this happened a third time the DM made an apologetic phone call to check in, but the only thing he changed was to add an extra security camera, as if that does anything to stop it from happening again.

You know we’re expendable right? You do that you’ll most likely get fired.

Look at my other thread. Girls are getting threatened, followed, stalked, have knives thrown at them. If we stay silent, someone is gonna get their ass kicked or killed by a customer.

That’s not Starbucks’ fault. People can be stalked and threatened anywhere. It’s not exclusively Starbucks and I doubt customers are doing this. People want their coffee. They get their coffee. They leave. They don’t stick around to harass people.

Starbucks does nothing to prevent it. My DM said they didn't want to put security guards in stores because he thought it would send the wrong message to customers.

It’s not their responsibility. What are they supposed to do? Walk everyone to their cars? That’s not realistic. Starbucks isn’t responsible for you when you’re off the clock. Starbucks is a coffee shop not a bar or club or somewhere people spend a lot of time or drink heavily. I highly doubt someone is going to wait to jump you when you leave work. Plus if you’re afraid of this why are you saying something now? Why didn’t you bring it up 6 months or a year ago? This is the first time I’m hearing about this so I don’t know where it’s coming from.

Should I expect this from McDonalds or Wawa? I mean they both can get customers that may make someone question their safety. Drunk and angry customers. They’re also both open later than Starbucks.
