Is it weird to anyone else that only 1 of our coffees is labeled fair trade? (self.starbucksbaristas)

I’m a former shift so forgive me if there are more than one bean (I think its Italian?) but it always struck me as weird that only that roast was labeled fair trade and the company talks so highly of their partnerships with the farmers

Sustainable and coffee don't go in the same sentence, period. I think it's hilarious that sbux set it's OWN RULES for how to "sustainably" farm coffee (conservative international) and lead it.

yeah, Italian is the only certified fair trade coffee. The rest say some vague bullshit like “100% committed to fair production standards”

when you produce coffee on a massive global scale like starbucks, there’s no way all of it can be sustainable. this is why starbucks sets their own rules for sustainability to give themselves a pat on the back
