no one knows what theyre even ordering. im tired of having to remake drinks during peak because we cant take them back, and people demand more milk be added. my SM hasnt given us the go ahead to correct customers yet. but this is not a latte!!!!!! i maybe had to make a double shot on ice once in a blue moon before this seasonal drink release and everyone who ordered it knew exactly what they were getting. now everyones ordering these shaken espressos (theyre good, i get it) but every. single. person. holds the cup up out of confusion and at least contemplates complaining. cant be just my store???
hannahvh9027 points2y ago
I flat out have been putting more milk in them just so I don’t have to deal with the constant remakes and complaining when my entire staff is exhausted and understaffed.
cringeqween1322 points2y ago
For something like milk my store's been using short cups to put the milk in instead of remaking the whole thing.
dickfart27 [OP]3 points2y ago
my sm is very by the book which could be why it hasnt been offered to us as a solution, but i feel like thats fine. do u know if thats against standard in any way?
cringeqween131 points2y ago
I'm not sure
Rmds918 points2y ago
at my store we have like every person ordering it with light ice lol... it’s like.... so a half empty cup then????? i just do regular ice anyways because otherwise the ice completely melts
NervosaNervous2 points2y ago
We had someone try and order the Brown Sugar Oat Milk Shaken Espresso without ice and we flat out told them no. Then they asked for light ice and got pissy when we handed them a Venti cup that was half full.
create_consciousness9 points2y ago
Shake the espresso 10 times until the foam is completely “blonde” and then add the milk. I’m telling you they won’t complain again
IntroductionDeep16878 points2y ago
Yup this is how I've been doing it from the start and never had an issue
throwaway12093409877 points2y ago
Read the weekly update! As per corporate, we are expected to fill the cup with oat milk to 1/4“ below the rim. If customers want light ice, ask if they want room or more milk. If you can’t clarify, assume milk to 1/4” to top of cup. No extra charge.
This is why reading the update is important!
FfierceLaw4 points2y ago
Then they need to schedule us and pay us to read it, we can’t stand around and read things when stickers are jumping out and they are always jumping out. Never a time when they are not not
throwaway12093409871 points2y ago
You can clock on five minutes early to any shift and read the weekly update. If you are clocking on right at the time you are scheduled and then “don’t have time” to do what you’re supposed to do, that is not the fault of management.
Raspberry_Just6 points2y ago
yesterday i had someone order one with no ice. yeah.
NervosaNervous1 points2y ago
We had someone do that today. We told them no because it’s an iced shaken espresso. They asked for light ice in a Venti and got pissy when we handed them a half full cup.
FfierceLaw5 points2y ago
If you look at the photos on both the home page and the menu on the app, you can see why they are surprised when we hand them a swampy looking beverage not filled to the top. And these are the people who did not modify the ice. Also why does the app allow them to select “no ice”?
snowpeech5 points2y ago
Yeah... Unfortunately all the pictures of the shaken espresso show it with plenty of milk 🤷♀️ can't expect customers to be happy with a half empty cup
rollerderbydyke4 points2y ago
Someone ordered a black hot coffee with caramel syrup and when one of the partners handed it off she pointed at the picture of the shaken espresso on the board and said "no I want that" and im like...ma'am
HippieinBlack4 points2y ago
I always fill up the milk all the way to the top and so does everyone just for the sake of not listening to the customers bitch. On a side note, I love when people order and say, “oatmeal shaken espresso.” Like if we actually put oatmeal in that. 😂
LightWhitePeaches4 points2y ago
Nope. A couple at the drive through would not stop complaining at the window about why their venti shaken espresso with light ice looked not full. It was also clear English was not their first language so it was really hard to explain the drink to them, not that that’s their fault.

On top what the previous commenter said, a lot of the stores nationally have been short on E.V.E.R.Y.T.H.I.N.G We've been short on almond milk, lids, cups, caramel + honey blend + brown sugar among other syrups too.. everyday Its awful honestly

There was an issue with trucks getting product to stores because of the snow storms and we are sadly still seeing the effects of it plus normal outages :(
dickfart27 [OP]2 points2y ago
yeah its probably the brown sugar syrup! we havent run out bc we get really large shipments but theyre ordered alllllllll the time so it makes sense!!!

I have already remade this drink 15 times this week and it's only tuesday. What's worse is when your partner makes an honest mistake and adds to much milk for one in the drive thru and the guy comes back in to order it and keeps fighting that the way you made it isn't correct (even though it is) because it tasted "wonderful" in the drive thru. I tried to figure out what she did based off of his description (she had left for the day) and remade it to his liking. Then he came back in, I remade it again...for free. Then, he came back in to get a refund. I had 90 customers during this.
Pontiff_Pineapple2 points2y ago
The recipe card says to fill with milk to 1/4" from the top. It's not the same as the Doubleshot.
dickfart27 [OP]2 points2y ago
oh yeah i didnt mean to say they were the same theyre just extremely similar, and the complaints are parallel
wheres_mayramaines-7 points2y ago
More milk??? I'm confused as to why that's "better?" I usually get mine with extra espresso 😅
