I work at a store in a Publix and was training a new barista by myself(not unusual we're a really small location) but during one of our rushes we got 2 rude customers in a row. The first got upset that we don't only scan for points, I explained to him that my system isn't set up for the QR barcodes that are in the app. He immediately started yelling and waving his hands "this is just ridiculous how am I supposed to get my stars now?!" I apologized and let him know his drink would be at the end of the bar. The second was a semi-regular of mine who got upset that I was taking the time to explain how to make her drink to my trainee; "just so you know I have NEVER waited this long for a drink from you before " I apologized and explained that I was in the middle of training someone and that it would be just a minute longer. She huffed and went to complained to my manager.

I feel this post so hard.
I work in a Tarbucks and we also can't scan the QR code and explaining that to any guest is a huge hassle and the amount of people I've had walk out is kinda funny. Less work for me!
I also train during rushes and it's just me and my little green bean. And boy watching the line pile up is great. I love watching the line disappear as I train them, and if they can't accept my apology for training, well they get the trainees mop water.

If they want stars that bad they either need to load their card with money OR go to the corporate location literally IN my plaza

Can we pay with the Starbucks app at the Target locations or is that not allowed? The Barista at Target told me it doesn’t work there.

You absolutely can pay with the app at a Target! You just can't use the QR code to earn the 1 star per dollar part of it. We can also redeem 150 stars but no other tiers. That barista was either misinformed or lazy.
Also, you can reload your card at a Target. You just have to let the barista know first thing otherwise we have to void your entire transaction in order to reload and then re ring you back up.

Man this scares me, second day working and whenever I got told to to make anything but refreshes I take forever and ask a bunch of questions. I hope I don’t gotta deal with an asshole like that.

Honestly I would’ve just scanned the guys card and let him figure it out for himself.
