I’m a new hire and a little confused about this perk.
So a couple of times I’ve gone to Starbucks twice in one day - most recently today. This morning I got a food and a drink, and used the partner bev/food to get it free. This evening I stopped by a different location to get my mark out, and was getting a drink as well. The second drink ended up free too??
This has happened a couple other times too, so I’m confused now - does the computer just not keep track, and if you get a different barista or go to a different store you can get it twice? Am I just misunderstanding the benefit? Is this just a glitch in my area? (I don’t plan on taking advantage of this, but I also don’t plan on bringing it up when it happens)

Some partners are super chill and not anal retentive and will hook a fellow partner up. Always good karma if your able to throw some change in the tip jar if you have some to spare!

the system doesn't keep track, so it's technically your responsibility to let the barista know you've already used your markouts for the day. also apparently sbux is updating their systems to better find people using markout incorrectly so just be careful! don't worry if it's happened a few times, sometimes baristas mark it out before i tell them and it's not the end of the world but yea, use them once a day and try to not go over that!

It does keep track of everytime your partner numbers are used and where, so do be careful and make sure you tell them you already got your free drink and if you want another just use the discount. I’ve seen partners terminated over misuse of numbers in this way so just be careful :)

Im a recent hire as well, and this is what ive noticed too. I believe its an honor system, and I dont think the computer stores whether or not you have had your markout yet. They wont say this upfront, but I think if you asked about it they would say something around the lines of honor system, dont abuse it, etc.

you’re correct. if you go to a different store theres no way of telling if you’ve already used your markout for the day. I’m honestly not sure if we are allowed to or not but i would just be careful and only do this maybe like once a week

I think it’s confusing, especially for new partners on DTR. If I’m ordering and not using a mark out I’ll just order through the app so there’s no confusion and it won’t come back on me.

You can! Under your profile there’s a spot to put your partner number. That’s what triggers the discount. It’s made it so much easier to order when I’m not using a mark out.

What tab is it under? I've looked through the profile in the app and my partner card is connected but it doesn't apply my discount when I go to mobile order

You have to go to the website!! I figured it out today - there’s a spot on your profile to add the partner numbers (separate from the card) but the option to add them doesn’t show up in the app
