Reporting Tips (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by girzjustwannahavefun
Have yall been reporting your cash tips?

I'm following the rule exactly as stated. Only reporting when my weekly cash tips are over $5. And only when I actually receive them.

And FYI we were supposed to be doing this anyway before the update, it's just most partners didn't because of lack of training.

Also, will I still get the federal tax back from what they take out?

You were supposed to be declaring them to begin with.

Yeah, but Starbucks also used to report $0.50 per hour worked in imputed tips on our behalf. We only had to declare them if our actual tips were at least $20/month and more than the imputed amount.

To answer OP’s question, I’ve been trying to report mine weekly, but it’s kind of a pain because you can only do it from a store computer. And yes, you should be able to get any income taxes refunded, as long as you don’t have any tax liability at the end of the year.

I'm curious as to whether the digital tips show up as tips on your paycheck now?

My ASM said you can do it from home

I’m pretty sure everything on MyParterInfo is “view only” unless you’re using a Starbucks device/network. I couldn’t find a way to do it from home, but I could be wrong.

Also, we do have the option of calling PCC and having them change it for us. That’s also what you have to do if the pay period you’re trying to declare tips for is no longer viewable online (I think the website only shows about four weeks at a time).

Yeah it’s only view only I tried earlier. I think so far there’s only two weeks that need to be recorded because I think it started the 12th so that would’ve been last week and then this week. I’m gonna try and do it from my store computer tomorrow.

Right, so when you filed your taxes if you earned different than $0.50/hour you should have reported that to be taxed on what you actually earned.
