They should not be able to fire you for that, especially if you get a medical note. If you are threatened with termination or other disciplinary action, tell them you’re going to talk to Ethics and Compliance.

They should not fire you but if youre really worried about taking time off (even if it’s only a week) you should contact Sedgwick. If Sedgwick has proper documentation and they approve the leave of absence then all the time you took off will be protected and they cannot legally fire you.
