I had a lady the other day order a green tea frap, made with sweet cream, 3 pumps of chai, vanilla bean power, peppermint, and Java chips... I’ve never been so confused in my life. I don’t think they know what they’re ordering half the time.

Breve is good with certain hot drinks for me but Heavy cream is a no for me.

Our store had a regular who came in daily and his drink was unreal, so unreal I wouldn’t expect people to believe me. We had a girl who enjoyed experimenting with drinks a lot. She made good stuff and we would occasionally promo her drinks for customers to try. She designed our St. Paddies day drink, Easter drinks, and so on. One day, she made a strawberry blended lemonade with Heavy Cream and called it Italian Ice. We made a sign for it and people liked it. That’s when he came. He ordered it, liked and came back the next day for another. This time however, a newbie forgot to put base in so it wasn’t as sweet, so when he came in next time he asked for more sweetener. Each day he came back, he got more and more sweetener until he was getting up to 50+ pumps of classic. To top it off, he wanted extra of the liquid components as well. We filled each of the three ingredients to the top line. I think the most he got in his drink one day was 63 pumps of sweetener. That’s the highest amount that I’ve ever had to made at least. I haven’t seen him since lockdown. I hope he’s okay, but I don’t want him to come back. He was rude and cussed out a co-worker once being out of strawberry purée.

breve and heavy whipping cream drinks are too much for me (i don’t think it tastes good) but i prefer to get whole milk because i’m thin & active and i like to get in the extra fat and calories where i can. if breve tasted good i would probably order it.

I don’t feel as bad about fat, saturated or otherwise, at least they’ll feel full, satiated. It’s all the sugar, bad altogether for metabolism, liver, I feel it’s more addictive than caffeine and slowly killing people

Oh honey, wait until you get the crazy af 12 pumps frap base, 12 pumps mocha, light ice double blended with half and half and extra whip frapp. We made that every morning at opening for YEARS. There is some wacky ass people out there and I think they literally don’t give any effs.

Not Starbucks but I was a barista/baker/manager for a local shop for a while. We had one lady who i later found out was a local high school party girl turned chronic meth head, she'd come in and order the biggest size we had, sometimes 2, iced lavender latte with heavy whipping cream. I asked her like 3 times the first time I made her order if she wanted all the milk portion with cream, like offset with some regular milk for goodness sake, and she got real pissed and confirmed she wanted 16 oz of heavy cream.

We started ordering extra heavy cream in preparation for her, and she became Lavender Latte Lady

Half and half or heavy cream is healthier than 2% or nonfat though! With reduced fat/fat free milk you are just drinking empty calories because the only part with real nutrition is removed.

I agree! I know lots of people do keto (especially early in the calendar year), so if you order an americano with a splash or two of hwc, then awesome. You do you.

I mean, still, order what you want, but the cup of half and half and especially the insane amounts of sugar make me feel physically ill.

So I’m a barista, and sometimes when I make myself a drink I’ll make it breve or with heavy cream. I know it’s not the healthiest, but I’m really skinny and trying to gain weight, and that’s an easy way to add some calories 🤷🏻‍♂️

Don’t worry the sugar free vanilla or sugar free cinnamon dolce cancels out all the unhealthy of the heavy cream...... kidding. Nothing about those drinks sounds appetizing. Like it even makes a god awful sound when steaming. Literally nothing good about HC milk substitute.

The other day one of my coworkers made me the “cheesecake” frappucino. It was pretty good, but knowing it was made completely of heavy cream kept me from being able to drink much of it. It’s soooo unhealthy.

The only time i think a drink made with half&half is acceptable is in a cafe misto or iced coffee/cold brew

Not to mention have you calculated how many calories in that drink?? Now, I really don’t care about counting calories or whatever, but one of the other partners and I were bored one cleanplay shift and we wanted to figure out how many calories would actually be in a venti drink made with all heavy cream. MY GOD. That shit is 45 calories a tbsp, and a tbsp = a 0.5 oz, that means that that venti latte made with heavy cream is 2340 calories for ONE Drink! That’s literally more than most people’s entire daily intake for calories. Every time someone orders that drink thinking they’re going to be healthy or whatever they think that sludge is doing for them, I just cry a little on the inside. Literally the one thing that I wish our customers realized! 😭

I agree its a bit weird, especially when its hot. Half and half is maybe slightly better than heavy whipping because its thinner and its called a cafe breve when you use half and half, Its a real drink. And the only reason I would say people use heavy whipping cream is because its the only sugar free option we have at starbucks, every single other milk we have is loaded with sugar, therefore making hwc the only keto option.

I had someone come in today that ordered a Venti Mocha Cookie Crumble with 3 shots of espresso, 6 pumps of frappe roast, heavy cream, 3 scoops of java chips, extra caramel drizzle, extra mocha drizzle, and extra cookie crumble. This same person ordered a venti mocha cookie crumble with 6 shots in it before. This absolute goof is insane.

Venti blonde vanilla latte. No foam. 16 pumps of vanilla. No 2% sub sweet cream. Add whip. She's a regular - pretty much daily, maybe every other day. I've stopped worrying about her she's clearly fine

Former barista here. My go-to is usually a pink drink made with VSC instead of coconut milk. I’m a gremlin, I know, but it’s so good 😭
