I had someone come through and ask what the difference between the mocha and white mocha was. He was in fact a partner, and not a newer one either.

he asked for two shots in a tall americano, and i said "of course, it already comes with two, did you want to add an extra two?" and when i asked for his id eventually he said "oh i don't have it with me, can i just show you my instagram instead?" also, in my opinion (which can obviously be wrong), he looked quite young to be a 26, so i was really just going off of gut feeling at that point

I had someone come in and use her boyfriend’s numbers cause she thought it was ok and because she worked at the Starbucks in target 🙄 I was like can I see your ID and she said hi I’m Daniel, like yeah ok your Starbucks account on your phone says otherwise Stacy.

A couple years back I went to visit another store where one of my friends had transferred. I still knew her numbers so I thought I'd have some fun.

I ordered my drink and gave her numbers to the partner running the register while I was talking to her. Little did I know that she was signed into the register and someone else was running it. What happens? That popup that says you can't mark out drinks for your own benefit. The partner running the register was **so confused**.

It was hilarious.

Just yell back at them. I’m a 6 year partner who doesn’t take anything anymore. I’ve refused service so many times. The pay vs. the stress isn’t worth it 100%. As long as you do it the right way you’re golden. Something like “you’re now allowed to speak to me that way, I’m not helping you today” always does the trick. Let them do without coffee for the day. It’s important to set boundaries, and enforce consequences when those boundaries are crossed.

A girl comes through and gives us numbers, but conveniently never has her ID or partner card. She doesn’t read off anything but there’s about four people who memorized a friend’s number and try to use it, so no #s can be used at my store UNLESS we know they’re a legit partner .

also love when “but I have my apron in my trunk!” okay tabitha that proves jack shit. I can hand my best friend an apron but that doesn’t magically make her a barista
