Hi! I am a green bean, started in January, and I’m a college student! I live in a dorm away from home and won’t be able to work at the location I work at during the summer, since I live about two hours away.
Ive read a few other posts from a while ago about people being in my same situation and how they were able to ask for time off during the summer and transfer to another store closer to their home during the summer.
Since I’m still pretty new, I’m just really nervous about talking to my store manager about this and asking for help and everything. I love working at starbucks and hopefully she can help me transfer and will also let me come back next fall.
I guess i’m just nervous because I’m not even sure what she can do to help me, and I haven’t worked the same shifts as her a lot either so we haven’t worked together a lot. What can I ask to get the conversation started?
