I remember ordering one of these once out of curiosity and thinking it was kinda gross, but I cant remember the flavor except SUGAR. What were these supposed to taste like/how were they made?
Mistakecupcake 53 points 2y ago
They were supposed to be sour mango flavor!

Edit: Shoutout to my fellow Unicorn Survivors. Never forget.
rio8envy7 7 points 2y ago
They weren’t awful but a pain in the ass and sugar overload.
emmaniamh 8 points 2y ago
The blue stuff was sour powder and white mocha and the base was a mango creme frap. I actually thought it was pretty dope.

That sounds really good. I could be misremembering my reaction to it, honestly 2017 feels like 200 years ago

Yes! I really enjoyed it as someone who likes sour things. Was it true to the coffee roots? Most definitely not. Did it create major demand? Yes.

All that being said, there's days when I kinda wanna have one.

more like Please Forget. people STILL try to order it
humiddefy 25 points 2y ago
I used to get a guy that would come in with his daughter like once every six months and try to order one. Of course I told him it was a short promotion years ago. He looks at me like I'm lying and then tries to get a chocolate croissant, which we are somehow always out of when he comes in. He then takes his disappointed child's hand and storms out the door.

The blue stuff in there looks suspiciously like what I would imagine unicorn semen would look like.

My store was across the street from a high school. Thats exactly how they described the blue drizzle, although they were a little more explicit about it lmao

Ugh I still feel really bad about ordering one at a Starbucks 5 minutes before close. I didn’t understand the hassle back then.
TemplarSensei7 4 points 2y ago
Whenever I see this, I feel pain.

Thank God, we sold out the day of, as we never made it again.

Our store ran out of ingredients within 48 hours of the launch and I’ll never forget the bitter ass customers that “didn’t get to try it” 🙄🙄🙄

Someone just came through the other day and tried to order this. Then they tried tie-dye. No. We have nothing. Bye.

I remember helping out at a new store for the first time by myself the first day these came out. I still shudder about it. 🤣
mstoday 1 points 2y ago
My hands were dyed purple, pink, and blue those two days we had the supply. PAIN

I tried one and I didn’t like it. Even as someone who LOVES sour, this was WAY too much sour.
