Just a question, are required to get our weekly coffee markout (like the bags of beans)? Bc partners at my store, even if they don’t drink coffee, get super stressed about getting their markout. I don’t drink coffee at home and I’m not going to take bags of beans home that will be wasted while someone else can buy them and enjoy them. I feel like it’s not required but idk, my coworkers freak over it

No, you absolutely do not have to markout coffee beans every week. It's weird that people at your store seem to think you do. I feel like I'm the only one of the partners at my store that gets my weekly markout.

Yeah I thought so 😭 one partner has a full basket of unground beans from markout when she and her husband don’t drink coffee and have no one to give it to. Just seems weird lol

That’s an awesome idea for anyone who doesn’t use up their mark out! It’s always great when food pantries are able to get “luxury” items like that and the people who shop there can get little treats like this :)

Yes! I grew up eating from food pantries half my life, and would get so excited when we pulled name brand foods and not generic, bland stuff lol

Wow yeah. Maybe they just feel like they should take advantage of the benefit but if they don't drink coffee or none of their friends do then that's pretty weird.

Yeah, they’re just creating unnecessary waste by doing that. If you know anyone who could use the coffee maybe you can ask them if you can have their mark out. Also, ask the manager to clarify to the partners that it’s not a requirement, unless you manager is the one telling them that, then they should be corrected as well.

I have done a full body scrub. I take the espresso grounds and pour them into a trenta cup when it’s time to empty the grounds drawer

Personally I try to make sure I get my bean mark out every week and my food and drink every day because I feel like pay is kinda low and I consider those freebies part of my pay. If I don’t use all my beans I gift them to family or friends

Same here. The partner handbook encourages giving away our markouts anyways. I’m making $11/hr & a bag of beans is like $12. Yknow? It’s a lot of money. I just donate them or give to family.

They can also mark out Via packets. If your store has any for refreshers maybe they can take that?

if we don’t want ours we put them in a box and rotate who we donate them too (hospitals, schools, fire department, etc)

Back when we sold teabags in boxes, you could mark out the box. Still can't stop you from getting an Earl Grey w/20 extra tea bags on the side for your partner beverage though

Who said you can’t? Was it an update or your manager? I would double-check that info. Whenever I suspect I’m getting in accurate info I look it up in the computer to make sure I’m correctly informed. Usually I can find the answer there.

You can’t mark out tea bags because we don’t sell them for retail anymore. At least not in the US. You shouldn’t be marking out the individual sachets unless you are marking out a hot tea as your beverage.

It was my SM. He’s a great SM, not prone to saying no to anything. I have half a mind to innocently attempt it and if it works on the register then corporate must allow it. The issue may be that we don’t have it in our merchandise and it just looks like loose bags in the back
