The amount of food waste (at least in my kiosk) is atrocious

The best drinks Starbucks offers are the first to be cut from the menu because the overwhelming majority of customers have underdeveloped palates and don't like drinks that have less than 4.7 million grams of sugar in it. Cinnamon cloud macchiato, juniper latte, golden ginger all cut because people just want strawberry refresher with no water and 20 pumps of classic. And the strawberry refresher is WAY overrated and tastes like ass.

Actually, ass tastes better than the strawberry refresher.

Neither of the shaken espresso drinks are really that good. Don’t get why people actually like them.

Being an SSV isn’t as bad as this subreddit makes it out to be and in my opinion, it’s easier than being a barista. Some people just aren’t cut out for it and that’s okay.

Unpopular opinions:

I don’t care at all when people ask for straws or stoppers. Seriously not my business whether they physically need one or not.

I love making Frappuccinos when it’s not busy because there’s something so satisfying about it coming out beautifully. I want it to be too pretty to drink.

I am waiting for the day someone asks me for a “surprise me drink” while I’m on register (I’m at a cafe-only location so this never happens), I would kill to be able to come up with some sort of fun, overpriced drink while also making sure it’s not a monstrosity for my bar partners (and it definitely wouldn’t have any cold foam lmao).

If I’m on bar, I try to complete people’s orders fully before handing them off (ie. if they get 2 drinks I wait until they’re both done to give them their drinks) because our handoff counter is small and I hate when they linger in front of it and block others from getting their orders just to complain “I had a strawberry refresher with that...” No. Just no. I don’t want to hear it. They get confused.
