Hey everyone so I just joined the Starbucks team and agree to hired in as a shift with a pay rate of $18.42. I said yes because this alone is $1.62 more than what I was being paid in my previous job. But I do have the question what other pay benefits do shift leads get?
Do you get bonuses? How often are pay increases (are they given yearly or do you have to ask for them)?
Thanks in advance.

Take advantage of your benefits. Shifts don’t get anything extra that baristas don’t get except for a bit higher wage. Raises are pretty much annual for the entire company around Dec/Jan ( this year they chose to give everyone a raise 2 weeks before min. wage went up in most states so that they didn’t have to compensate for that...ASSHOLES) make sure you set up your 401k, keep up with you stock grants, use the partner perks website....you can also become a barista trainer and make $75 per green bean you train. At my store they don’t let shifts be trainers tho...

If you are making $18.42 an hour as a Shift, you are not a shift in my town. HAHAHA

$18 ain’t much in some parts of the country

I did not indicate if it was more or less then I make. I just indicated a shift was not making $18.42 in my city.

That’s really good... I was paid 11.89 as a shift in Philly

In northern cal, I believe it’s around $20 an hour for a shift if I’m correct

I was told that shifts accumulate more vacation hours than baristas. Can anyone confirm if this is true?

My rate just went up like 2.50 with my last pay raise.

Nice !!! So it is like a yearly thing then? Or did you have to ask your boss?
Gameb0i61 points2y ago
It also might depend if you work at a licensed store.
Gameb0i61 points2y ago
It’s yearly. Used to be every six months and was based on performance. Now it’s yearly.

This is correct, not sure why you got downvoted.
