My store was hitting sales records last March during the beginning of our stay at home order, and we hit another sales record during a major snow storm this year. 2 years with Starbucks and it still baffles me

Thats also in an area labeled as a PDS (Particularly Dangerous Situation) tornado watch by the storm prediction center... those aren't handed out lightly. (Source: tracking tornadoes is a hobby of mine. I hope to one day chase them. Also studied some severe meteorology in college). Be safe!

bro fuck tornadoes 😩🙃 stay safe friend!!!

my store (in okc, the heart of tornado alley) has a bathroom that was designed as a safe room to stand up to an EF4 tornado and the back room can stand up to an EF2. which should be standard for all stores in the south/tornado alley imo. i’ve lived in tornado alley for 22 years and they still scare the shit out of me.

>which should be standard for all stores in the south/tornado alley imo

I live in the Midwest and think this should just be standard, period

Wow! I Grew up in Cali where we get earthquakes but most structures are designed to withstand them . But tornados ....I don’t trust our buildings

I had to drive to work during a hurricane. Granted, we were not in the worst of it (about two and a half hours off the coast), but we still had torrential rain, high winds, and roads were flooded. Trees and power lines came down in some places. That town has MASSIVE drainage ditches by the main roads, and even those were overflowing and causing flooding. People still showed up for their starbucks smh

That’s sad....

Also it’s not like we can show DIY Buxs drinks. I think some girl got fired for showing it on tik tok .

We Gotta get our coffee ( iced Venti 10 pump WM oat milk latte with sweet cream cold foam- add strawberry purée with extra WC and frap chips on top ). Yuck!

yeah.. been there before. I woke up one morning a few years ago to open at my store in Texas (4:30am), and heard tornado sirens going off and crazy high winds and honestly it sounded like hell outside and so I thought, okay, no way do I still need to go in... after calling to confirm they told me I better not be late 🥲

**edit: location

I live in the upper Florida Keys, and my store didn't even shut down for Hurricane Irma till the day before impact. Our county was under mandatory evacuation for all residents so my family and I got to sit in traffic for 15 hrs just to get to Ocala- which normally only takes us 3.5 to 4 hrs. Gotta love starbucks
