i don’t put up with abuse and neither do my co-workers. my store manager doesn’t let customers treat us like shit. i like my job because of my co-workers and the culture we have in our store. i’m sorry you didn’t have that experience but someone isnt an imbecile just because they don’t absolutely hate their job. enjoying my job doesnt mean im licking corporate’s boots. can starbucks do better? absolutely. are some store managers shit? absolutely. take this anger and direct it at corporate and not at the people on a starbucks barista subreddit.

i got a tenured professor in trouble with the university for verbally abusing me & my coworkers at my last job, got us all a raise & increased the starting wage, and drafted a worker’s bill of rights for student employees with the student body president but yeah i’m a mindless corporate slave. go change things at corporate or fuck off.

okay but i’m not the exception. i haven’t worked with a single person who mindlessly sings praises for starbucks. we all have complaints. we all deal with shitty customers. we also share a lot of laughs. we help each other. we stand up for each other. quit generalizing. you could have come here and asked a genuine question that lead to an actual discussion. coming on here and making inflammatory, accusatory sweeping statements is a bullshit move.

I'm far from an imbecile. Im just able to take a beating and don't really give a f*** what people think of me. Im not outspoken by any means, I do play the rules but if you wanna cuss me out because the bar barista dodnt get the EX caramel drizzle, but still put drizzle on, you go on ahead. It'll roll right off me. I love my job as well. But like I said, im far from an imbecile.

Bruh what? Did somebody spit in your coffee this morning? :( if you search for negativity you’re going to find it. I’ve met amazing people and learned so many new things so far and yes there have been a few customers that haven’t been the most pleasant, but the good outweighs the bad by far. Every job will have a struggle and if you’re not cut out for it then find a new one.

I used to work retail and clawed my way out of it. It's a friday night, I've been drinking, I have time outside of work. I am not chained to a desk every hour of the day lol. This is how I unwind.
