Feeling slow still after being at starbucks for 3 months. (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by InvestmentMuch7643
so i still feel so slow in the mornings they will have me upfront on register and tell me to do one thing and i start it and then i get a customer so i help them and then they will want me to fix mobiles and run things out to the cars that they park and then they’ll tell me i need to be faster and i’m literally like how is that possible? i’m honestly going as fast as i can possibly go without getting out of breathe and then they’ll say i’m behind on stocking the bar and i’m just like well one y’all got me running around and two i still gotta finish what i started as well. any advice or tips ?

It seemed like you just explained 2 or 3 positions. If you’re on register prior to peak your responsibility should be ringing people, getting regular coffee right away and warming (depends). If you’re at peak someone should be on warming and you usually only have to worry about ringing. Now during peak if you’re on MOP you’re responsible for warming, regular coffee, MOP ofc and curbside (some stores are too busy for this, so the tasks will be divided between 2 people usually). Lastly, if you’re not always in a slight jog you’re simply not doing the job correctly. Work on many things at once and literally be as fast as you can without looking crazy😭. I wish you the best

we never have a warming partner, even at peak🥲 and we are a high volume store. and we have never had an MOP partner. the cafe/mobile bar person is in charge of handing out mobile orders

Another tip: maybe try different positions? I suck at register and MOP. Every one of my shifts are on bar, or occasionally CS! You just have to find what you’re good at.

usually when i have early shifts i’m at register and MOP and then they will switch me to drive thru window. I enjoy bar and CS, i feel like i struggle the most with DTO and register/MOP.
