Markouts not working (self.starbucksbaristas)

So today I went into my starbucks closest to my house to use my markout. I get to the window and give the guy working the register my numbers. He asks if I’m working today and I say no. He then tells me he can’t markout my items unless i’m working that day. I didn’t argue because I had somewhere to be so I just payed for my food and drink. I’ve never taken advantage of the system or anything (i’ve always only done my 1 food and drink per day.). Was I flagged for some reason? Did it discontinue?

They are misinformed. The free food and beverage daily mark out has been extended to mid June. If that ever happens again, don’t be afraid to stand up for yourself and just say you are uninterested in paying and simply leave.
Depending on your comfortability , you can also say you’ll follow up with their shift supervisor or store manager to make sure they all know the benefit has been extended.

Yeah I figured that it was a misunderstanding but I was running kinda late and didn’t have time to argue lol. Next time I’ll definitely ask about it. He said the POS pulled something up (or that’s what it seemed like). It was strange.

Ask for a manager or someone else. You should be able to use your mark outs every single day. Originally it was going to stop in March, but they extended it

According to decision center the register will now state if you used your free drink/food benefits for that day. It’s a new thing that just rolled out in some places so if you didn’t work or use it that day my best guess is that maybe it was a kink in the system because it’s new.
