OH MY GOD
Instantly brought me back to when this girl asked for a "tall americano, no water, cream, and a pump of white mocha" and i even explained it and she just said sure. i hand her the drink and she has this look of disappointment and confusion and she asked "did you put just the cream?"
I then had to re-explain why it's just shots, a little cream, and a little white mocha and I even offered to remake it with water for free. She then re-orders instead of just letting me remake it and asks for a venti iced americano with white mocha.
God is cruel.
NervosaNervous41 points2y ago
We had someone ask for three shots over ice in a venti cup with six pumps of white mocha and heavy cream. They got pissy when we handed them their drinks and they were just over half full. They wanted a venti iced white mocha with heavy cream, but didn’t want to pay the full price 🙄

Had someone come through drive trying to argue with us about the same thing, when we told her we’d have to charge for oat milk over 4oz. “They usually just fill it to the top!”
Yeah well they’re not supposed to, they probably just want to get you out of the store because they can’t stand you. There’s five other Starbucks within five miles, you’re welcome to go to any of those and see if they’ll break proto so you can save an entire 70¢.
kobo1516 points2y ago
Whenever someone does that I just pack that shit with ice first and then do a splash of milk on top

Or the “can I get a grande extra wet cappuccino” okay, a grande latte, heard that.... anything else for you today 🥲🙃😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
TheDoctor8888888818 points2y ago
I would just give them the normal amount of milk a cappuccino gets, that’s what they asked for. One size under the latte amount of milk and normal shots.
bryceofswadia13 points2y ago
i hâte when people order wet cappuccinos. you just want a latte with light foam bitch.
iWantToBeARealBoy9 points2y ago
Ehhh no not really the same thing at all. If anything it would be a latte with extra foam but even then it should have a little more foam than even that
DieLawnUwU13 points2y ago
A regular asks for a honey almond milk flat white with light foam and it gives me an aneurysm every time
diexschwarzexgeige11 points2y ago
The other day, we had a mobile order for a cappuccino. I made it- no problem. About 20 minutes later, we get a call and I answer it. Turns out her cappuccino was “too foamy” and wanted it remade. I felt so crushed because I love making foamy cappuccinos!
TylerJ7164 points2y ago
That breaks my heart for you how dare they hate a drink you put love into I'll throw hands
diexschwarzexgeige3 points2y ago
Right? I explained that a cappuccino is espresso with lots of foam, but would be “happy” to remake it for her 😒
thatactorjoe4 points2y ago
And technically lattes are supposed to get foam too...they really just want a cup of hot milk with a little bit of coffee in it 😂
46patisse4 points2y ago
Haha - humans are dumb! Love this guy💚
arokh1233 points2y ago
It's like ordering a frappuccino without ice
lightweightlarkin2 points2y ago
I’ve had this happen, or they order it with light ice and I’m like 🤷🏼♀️ I’m not doing anything different other than maybe an extra pump of base fo make it liquidy, if you can notice a blended drink doesn’t has light ice then I’ll remake it for you
Starbuzksbarizta2 points2y ago
Don’t give them more ideas🥺😭
arokh1232 points2y ago
Like TikTok doesn't already give them a million ideas😩
MoshiMachine3 points2y ago
As a green bean this would fuck me up during morning rush. Lol. Customers always making me second guess myself.
Catsarecoolish2 points2y ago
I have a regular that gets a venti doppio macchiato, and I always feel like an idiot with the pitcher and spoon trying to scoop out as much foam as possible 😂
stratamaniac2 points2y ago
This is the plain-talking barista the world needs now.
Animuthrowawayplz2 points2y ago
I had a lady try to argue that a no foam cappuccino was different than a no foam latte. I explained there wasn't a difference, but she insisted they tasted different.
Starbuzksbarizta3 points2y ago
I always get asked to do medium foam? So....you want just a cappuccino...then continues to yell at me M E D I U M as if I don’t know how to spell
Animuthrowawayplz2 points2y ago
Exactly! That's right up there with people repeating their whole order when you ask for how many of whatever sweetener or what size in terms of annoying.
Starbuzksbarizta1 points2y ago
Or when you are out of something but they just keep talking so you can’t tell them I’m out of whatever and then they get mad at you for not having something like it’s my fault
Animuthrowawayplz2 points2y ago
I had a guy come in recently that was mad we gave him a mask to put on, saying he had gotten his vaccine. (He also was trying to argue that Starbucks was a public company and not private because he has stocks in it.) This was right after Texas had that major ice storm about a month or so ago so we were out of a lot of food. Wants egg bites, we don't have them, gets even madder and saying that we're useless for not having them and proceeds to cough on our tables on his way out.
I love the people I work with and I love some of the regulars, but man am I learning to hate the general population.
Tall_Draw_5211 points2y ago
I think they are different actually. No foam cap, you don’t just fill up the cup with hot milk. A latte has a higher coffee to $1.
Animuthrowawayplz2 points2y ago
I'm not sure. I've been taught by the people at my store to always fill the cup. So if they ask for a no foam cap, then it is filled to the top with milk. No foam latte, filled to the top. This doesn't count for shots over ice though when they ask for milk, that's a different story.
Tall_Draw_5211 points2y ago
Huh. Well, I was a partner a super long time ago. I could be wrong!
Lonely_Witcher84031 points2y ago
I had someone pick up a mobile order hours after the cappuccino was made. She was like, "they didn't fill it all the way to the top." And I just stared at her because I only have so much patience. I asked them if they would make her drink over and she complained again when it was mostly foam....at that point I was like, "ma'am...do you know what a cappuccino is??"
Why do people order drinks not knowing what it is and then get mad at us?

I wonder if this guy got fired for posting this?
bamac21 [OP]2 points2y ago
I don't work at Starbucks anymore hahah. I worked there for 7 years though!
rio8envy71 points2y ago
So a latte
BoysLock1 points2y ago
Yesterday I had 3 different people ask for iced cappuccinos. It's just so much easier to give them what they ask for than try to explain...
jilessio11 points2y ago
isn’t there actually a recipe for an iced cappuccino tho? i’m not 100% because I’m only a 293 and haven’t checked for myself, but my seasoned coworkers basically make an iced latte then top it with milk that they foamed up on 3.
CobaltLemon2 points2y ago
That’s the recipe
emulls4 points2y ago
Did they want a cold foam cappuccino? cause we sell those.
