need to update my taxes(w4)... and other things (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by b0rrowers
How would I go about this? I haven't started working yet but already did the onboarding. I realized I should just put myself as exempt from withholding since I'm a minor with no dependents who will make less than 12 grand in a year(not here for tax advice since this obviously isn't the place but if you see something wrong about that)... I start work in a little more than week. Should I contact my manager about it or what? I heard you need to do it from the store laptop (or just their wifi?) To update the form (and to get a plastic partner card which I also wanted) how do I ask to use the laptop? Do I have to come before/ stay after my shift or can I use it during my 10 on my first shift?
Also how do I get a free drink on my first shift before I learned how to make it? Do I just ask another partner to make it for me? When you make drinks(and get food) on the shift do you ring them up like you would for a customer??

These are all things you can ask your store manager about. You shouldnt be afraid to, you havent even started training so now is the time to ask questions. My store doesnt have a laptop so we dont have to ask to use it we just have a desktop computer anyone can use at anytime. As for partner bevs you will learn how to use the till and with that comes ringing in partner bevs and discounts. I wouldnt ring in your own drinks or make your own drinks without permission from a shift, though. Same with markouts i would get someone else to do it for you. Again these are things you can (and should since they will know the rules at your location better then any of us) ask your sm and/or trainer about. Especially your trainer thats what theyre there for!
