Ask. A lot. Of. Questions. And by a lot, I mean A LOT. If you don't know something, ask. Don't compare yourself to others when it comes to progress, especially on bar. My coworker got her shit down in a month. I took much longer. Ask questions.. Some Partners are not going to like you, just like with any other job, and that's okay. Don't let it bring you down. I had a shift who was a bitch to me. I took it personally and almost quit. Turns out she was just a overall grade A bitch to everyone. Did I mention...you should ask questions? lol

I'm seconding what someone else said: ASK QUESTIONS

Pretty much, the training is an overview of the positions and you won't be expected to memorize everything in one day. That said, it's on you to take the initiative to figure out what you don't know. Don't just try to wing it: ask questions. It's expected! Fuck, I've had the SM (who has been with Starbucks for 8+ years) ask me a question about a drink build because she was blanking on it.

Ask if there is a specific drink you want to learn how to make! (When I train, the first drink I show is that trainee's favorite drink). If someone is like "go make whipped cream" and you don't know how, ASK! If you don't know why a protocol is followed or you're just curious for further info, ask! You can never annoy any trainer or supervisor worth their salt with too many questions because they know it's a vital step.

Also, customer service is key! Be polite, friendly, make eye contact, ask customers for their names, ask how their day has been, etc. Starbucks REALLY emphasizes customer connections so this will be vital.

Third, read back orders! The worst habit you can get into is just taking an order without reading it back. People forget modifiers, you or they mishear each other, etc. Be redundant AF. "Okay a venti black pike, to confirm, you don't want any cream or sweetener? Okay, one venti black pike will be $x.xx, please."
