Customer: "Can I get the oat milk latte, no sugar."
Me: "oh there's no sugar in it, just espresso and oat milk"
C: "ok. Great so I'll get that then, but with almond milk"

That was a peak moment for me.

HAHAHA i've been asked what a brown sugar oatmilk espresso was... like? it's an espresso. with brown sugar syrup and oatmilk ?

customer: "is there caffeine in the shaken expresso drink? i just don't like expresso at all."

me: "yes, there is definitely espresso in the shaken espresso drinks"

Back when the smoothies first came out someone asked me what was in the strawberry banana smoothie as I was in the process of making the Frappuccino she ordered (If anyone was around back then it was a big sign that said with whey powder with the smoothie options), she didn’t like my answer and actually called and complained about my attitude when I said Um strawberry purée and banana long pause protein powder long pause milk and ice... then handed her her drink and said have a great day. That was the part she called to complain about, said I said that very sarcastically. It was my last day at that store before I went off to college and my manager was right there on break listening to the conversation and pretty much laughed at the customer.

Everything at Starbucks is named so literally and yet people still get confused.

“The brown sugar iced shaken oat milk espresso, what is that?”

“It’s espresso shaken over ice, with brown sugar syrup and oat milk.”

“Oh.... can I get that hot?”

Everyday.

“What’s in your honey almond milk cold brew?” “Honey, almond milk and cold brew.”
“Oh. I wasn’t sure if there was some kind of sweetener in there or not.”
“... I mean there’s the honey?”

I wish this wasn’t a legitimate conversation I’ve had with a customer.
